MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE OLYMPIANS FARE WELL

On March 16, the Moorestown Friends School Middle School Science Olympiad team travelled to Middlesex Community College to compete in the New Jersey Science Olympiad state finals. The competition featured 24 events. MFS placed first in two of them.

Seventh graders Scott Strickland and Patrick Johnson placed first in the Junkyard Challenge and seventh grader C.J. Eni and ninth grader Andrew Jaffe brought home the first place medal in Trajectory.

The MFS team also won six other awards. Medal winners were seventh graders Tim Carter, Tommy Hietzman and Matt Scalamandre, eighth grader Joe Mulholland, sixth grader Travis Benedict and ninth grader Spencer Bard.

MFS Middle School Science Teachers Deborah Bruvik and Chuck Blatherwick served as advisers/coaches for the team.
