MFS News May 3, 2008 SOPHOMORE WIN STATE ARBOR DAY ART CONTEST
Moorestown Friends School sophomore Emily Watts placed first in the tenth grade level in the New Jersey Arbor Day Art Contest. The contest is sponsored by the New Jersey Tree Foundation. Emily received a medal and a $50 gift certificate at the New Jersey Arbor Day celebration in East Brunswick on Friday, April 25. Upper School science teacher Alice Chong sponsored the entry. Junior Sarah Connell of Cherry Hill placed third among all eleventh graders entering the contest, and received a certificate in recognition of her accomplishment. The New Jersey Tree Foundation is a statewide, non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, enhancement and development of urban and community forestry activities through education, volunteerism, community outreach, partnerships, and grants.
