I give to MFS because... Alix Ablaza '07- Moorestown, NJ
Alix, an undergrad at the University of Richmond, was a standout member of her class at MFS, co-clerking the Honor Committee, traveling with Operation Smile to the Philippines and earning membership in the National French Honor Society. Alix also competed on the varsity fencing team. She has been a consistent donor to the Annual Fund since her MFS graduation, earning her membership in the Young Alumni Club which honors donors who give during their college years, as well as those who give for three consecutive years during their first ten years as alums. “I am grateful to MFS for giving me the nurturing
and supportive environment that I needed to have the confidence to explore
the endless opportunities available. With MFS' strong community behind
me from pre-kindergarten to commencement, I always felt secure enough
to take on new challenges. “For me, MFS did not just provide me with a
great education, but helped teach me how to think deeper, and go beyond
what I thought I could achieve. In addition, I have found that the core
Quaker values that were stressed at MFS have given me a unique perspective
and outlook that have been invaluable in my life post-high school.” –Alix
