Endowed funds may be established with outright gifts or estate gifts.  Several members of the MFS community have begun endowed funds now so they can see the impact of their gift, and have planned to utilize a gift from their estate to bolster the fund in later years. A few examples of different endowed fund levels and opportunities are noted below:

• Gifts at the $400,000 level and above for scholarship:  An endowment gift at this level would create a named scholarship fund.  This fund would provide resources for a full-tuition scholarship (approximately $20,000).
• Endowed Chair: $1 million. Funds a salary for a member of the faculty in perpetuity.
• Endowed Faculty Professional Development Fund: $100,000. To support faculty continuing education coursework.
• Endowed Library Book and Resources Fund: $25,000. To purchase new books and register for online database subscriptions for student research.
